I was planning on riding my bike to work today. However, the forecast called for rain all day, so I decided no to do it. It is almost noon and while it is overcast, there is no rain to speak of. I'm kind of antsy to go on a bike ride. Yesterday afternoon, there was a thunderstorm that prevented any outdoor activities. I guess that I'll have to leave it until Sunday at the Ramapo Rally.
This morning I did 100 lengths at the pool. On Fridays, I have decided not to do any sets at the pool, just swim continuously for an hour. I do not find it boring, but I can see why people would think it is. After that, I went running for 1hr, followed by my shoulder routine.
Tomorrow, I will wake up early to go on a 2+hr run. I have to schedule it so that I can be back in front of the TV at 8AM, when the preliminaries for the Olympic Long Jump competition will be held. This is the only hope for a medal that my country has in Beijing. Actually, it will be the first Olympic medal of any kind in over 50 years for Panama. The athlete, Irving Saladino is the current World Champion. He had the longest jump in the world so far this year, and the 5th longest ever! The Olympic record was set back in 1968, and the world record in 1991.
So I will be rooting hard at 8AM. Screaming will be required. And this is just for the qualifiers...
